First Day Jitters (from Mom)

What a summer!!  As I knew it would, it flew by in the blink of an eye... and the pit in my stomach that some would call kindergarten became a reality way faster than I wanted it to.  All I have been thinking this week is... "For the rest of his time at home with us, he will be in school... moving one grade to the next... then he'll leave home!"  Silly.  I know.  But he is my baby.  He will always be my baby.  And I feel those precious baby years just slipped right on passed us... and poof....

He is five years old.  Starting a new chapter where he is gone for a good chunk of the day... and the house feels empty.  Too silent.  I waited and waited for 2:30 when I knew we could start getting ready to leave.  We couldn't get to the school fast enough!  When I saw those bright blue eyes... and that huge smile... I knew he had a perfect day.  And I was so happy for him.  Hearing all about his first day adventures was wonderful!  He told us how he played a "mouse" game (that I can not remember for the life of me because the title is a tongue twister!)  He had his favorite meal for lunch (pizza!)... and sat by his "best pal Jamison" (as Shawn says it.)  They read a beautiful book called "The kissing hand."  He was just delighted to tell us about his first day!

I know tomorrow will be sad too.  Watching my baby walk into that big building.  But at least he knows I will be there waiting... anxiously... to hear all about his 2nd day.

Snuggles with Ms. Chrissy
The 1st Smore... Naughty Naught Chrissy!
Little Buddies... Landon & Jamie.
One of the best "brother" pictures...ever!
We spent a GREAT deal of time here this summer.... and had GREAT deals of fun!
Uncle Cody & Aunt Lynda's visit.
Perfect!
He has the cutest laugh :)
We spent a great deal of time here... in the kiddo pool.  Poor Jon filling up that pool every other day in the miserably hot month of July.
The boys and their Uncle & Aunt.
Our first safari bus ride!

All 3 of the boys enjoyed this so much!  Landon even surprised us by feeding some of the animals!

Liam laughed and squealed!
What blog post would be complete without a sleeping baby picture?

Aunt Tearsa & Liam.  We are VERY glad Aunt Tearsa is back from Europe!

Have I mentioned how much fun having 3 boys is??
Well, it's a blast!  Look at that pile of monkeys!
Our trip to Reptile Land with Lindsey & kiddos.  The boys got to pet an alligator and a snake!
Old Tyme Photos.  Now this was a blast!
My three little outlaws :)
1st Cheerio.  Now they are his fav.

I say this all the time: "If he was any cuter it would hurt."  Seriously, it would hurt.  Some days I can not handle the cuteness that pours out of this child.  It's like the cuteness overload!  (Ok, I'm done now.)
Father & Son.
One of  our favorite summer adventures... Camping with The Hoover's.  We had such a wonderful time with them!  The boys did great for their first time camping as well.
Shawn, Landon, Jamie, and a new friend we met along the way.
Handsome boys!

Very excited about this whole "The Great Outdoor's" thing.
Group shot!

We took a trip to MeMe & Pappy's and spent TONS of time 4 wheeling!  Shawn and Landon even stayed an extra night without Mommy!

This child.  Oh this child.  Being a daredevil AND clumsy is NOT the best combo.  We have had more bumps, bruises, and scares from this child this summer that I care to count.  Pictured here was our trip to the ER for what was very close to a broken nose from falling off of the kitchen chair, hitting the table, then landing face first on the floor.  On the way to X-ray he fell flat on his face too.  Nice.
The weekend before school starts... Hurricane Irene heads up the coast.  What do we do?  Head to the park for some run in the rain.
This summer was full of first for baby Liam.  1st (and2nd) tooth.  Crawling.  Sitting up on his own.  New foods.  What an excited time!
Yea, the though of the germs on that thing... ugh!
Mr. Liam didn't seem to mind though... he thought swinging in the rain (well lightly sprinkling at this point) was a grand ol' time!
Silly Aunt Tearsa!
Oh that sweet smile Landon!
My handsome little Red.
And for the hurricane.  Swimming in a downpour with Aunt Tearsa and Aunt Stef.  You couldn't have asked for a better way to spend a Saturday!
And summer break is over.  Back to school.  He is ready!
Sporting the backpack he LOVES.
He looks like such a little man now.  I am so proud of you Shawn.  Way to go on your first day!  Have a wonderful year sweetie!
