If we never see the inside of an ER again, it will be too soon. Last Wednesday Jon came home from work, sat down to a good magazine and a bowl of cereal. Just as he finished his stomach started hurting. The pain continued through the night, into the morning where it was getting pretty severe. I took him to the doctor in the morning and they sent us straight up to the ER. All of his pain and symptoms were classic of a gall attack. With my history in gall troubles, I could understand how much pain he was in. The doctors were leaning towards gall as well and took him right down for an ultrasound. Hours later, we learn he has a bowel obstruction. What?! He has no risk factors, he's young, thin, healthy. They admitted him Thursday and decided to let his intestines rest for the night by putting a tube down his nose, throat, and into his stomach to pump his stomach and keep everything off of it so his tract wasn't trying to push anything through. This brought instant relief of the nausea and that stabbing pain! They kept him through the next day, and after an x-ray and some liquids they informed us that a portion of his intestines became inflamed causing a small kink or twist in the small intestine. They have no clue what caused it... just a freak thing. It had nothing to do with his "episode" in January where he collapsed. Jon is home now, thankfully! He's been off work for a few days because of being so weak and sent home on a liquid diet.
For everyone pouring in their concerns, prayers, and get well wishes, thank you so much. We have such an amazing circle of family and friends who have been there for us through this. The boys missed their Daddy so much for those few days and have been pretty attached to him since. It was especially hard on Shawn, because he knew Jon was sick before he left. Again, our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to everyone who has been there and checking in on us. We are blessed with such support!

After Jon came home we had a "meeting" with his parents who were in from South Carolina. A long discussion and clearing of the air later, we found a healthy resolution for our families. We had a wonderful day with them Sunday, and the boys greatly enjoyed their time with GiGi & Poppy.
