After a non-stop laughing night out with my bestie, I am due for a few new pictures and stories. Lindsey and I went to see "The Back-up Plan" and let me tell you, GO see it... like, now! Oh, it has been confirmed, call it "gut instinct"... we ARE in fact sisters from another mother.
Drum roll please! The 2nd set of "Bob Books" has arrived! Shawn could hardly believe his eyes that alas, his much anticipated 2nd part to his reading series came in the mail. In case you are curious, here is a link to what all this hype is about "Bob." Sure enough Shawn dug right in and picked out books from the back of the set (hardest) and plugged and chugged away at the words like an ol' pro. Shawn is just blowing us away with his reading skills at such a young age. We are so proud of you sweetie!
Landon has a new favorite bedtime book (as of the past few weeks.) He is obsessed with "Sweet Dreams, Mimi" from the Baby Einstein collection. He doesn't necessarily want you to read it to him, he'd rather skip to the end page and point out all of the fun things floating around. He points to each object and usually lets out a squeal before attempting to pronounce the word. There are bees, flowers, horses, dolls, stars, a moon, the sun, and all sorts of fun things. Watching his little lips try to form some of the sounds and how he over exaggerates some of the words is darling! Then, before being tucked into his crib, he needs a kiss and hi-five from his brother to complete the bedtime routine. Both boys find this rather amusing (and something to let out a few more high pitched squeals over.)

The other night we met Cassie & Eme at the park near where Eric plays soccer. We let the little kids run around for a while before watching Eric finish up.
This little town inside the park is so cute! It is set up like shops from the real town it sits in. We spend many a play dates here.
Ok GiGi, at long last... the boys in their dragon PJ's! These went over huge. Those capes were just hilarious.
Yesterday the boys had a play date at their friend's Philip & Andrew's house. A few of their other buddies came too. Here is Christopher, Shawn, and Andrew all tired from a long day of play. All in total, 7 kiddos running the roast.
I have Lindsey to thank for yet another obsession of mine. Just after she heard about this amazing woman she passed on the info to me to check out her site. This woman is a hero of mine. She cooks, she cleans, she shops, she home schools, she photographs, and she married to a rancher! Meet Ree: The Pioneer Woman. She is just amazing. Her writings and photographs tell such wonderful stories. I highly recommend checking her out. Click HERE to meet a woman that I admire so much.
Oh, and today her cookbook came! Yes, I purposely bought a cookbook. She inspired me that much... so yea, it's saying something!
Lindsey, lets buy that ranch, get us some cattle, join me in homeschooling, and we'll start our own prairie life! The men will learn to be cowboys real quick, you'll see ;)
At long last my new point and shoot arrived! Lets face it folks, I can't carry my equipment with me everywhere. It's tiring, heavy, and just awkward. But I needed something better than that stinkin' little point and shoot that cost like $200. So, the new Canon has arrived. Its got one heck of a zoom on it, HD video, and a few bells and whistles that are nice for just grabbing and going to the park and capturing some acceptable quality images. No, its no D series, but it'll do for quickie snapshots.
Puppies!
Dragons!
At Nampaw Meiser's house. Trying out one of the new books.

It was a wonderful day all around. Ashley got to use a new camera, cookbook. Shawn got his books...to which he read 4 as soon as we sat on the couch. Landon, discovered the squirt bottle
ReplyDeleteAnd me? I got to watch it all. I love my family, the older my boys get the more fun we have in a day. Ashley, I love you too, more and more each day!!
Awww hunny, you didn't get anything! Well, yes you did, you got the Veggie Tales cd's to listen to with Shawn (over, and over, and over!) Oh, and the food that will be made from this awesomely wonderful cookbook. Oh, and you got wet from all the squirt bottles!
